The work of the enterprise team

In these uncertain times it is reassuring to know that the residents of Redcar & Cleveland can access support to help them realise their dreams.

Redcar & Cleveland’s Enterprise Team (LEGI) are pushing the barriers in the current economic climate by encouraging local entrepreneurs to enter the world of business.
To some it is a lifelong ambition to be one’s own boss, and to others it is forced by redundancy. The ratio is about 50/50.
To date the programme has helped 167 new businesses to start, with dozens more currently working through the start up process.

The Enterprise Team’s well structured support and advice has managed to help entrepreneurs and new businesses penetrate a wide range of markets and sectors in the current recession. The diversity of new businesses is quite amazing, and it proves that local people are not short of brilliant, workable ideas

In the difficult economic climate Redcar & Cleveland’s Enterprise Team’s professional support could give the edge over competitors. With their logical approach to a business start-up and the services offered, they can also offer a feasibility assessment for the practicality of your business idea, and they have made it easy to implement  new business ideas.

The Enterprise Team also specialises in offering advice to current businesses in the Redcar and Cleveland area looking to expand. They offer professional advice for growth strategies, access to first class knowledge of the area and guidance to help you make the most of new business and investment opportunities in these challenging times.

The Enterprise Team have even been building relationships between schools and businesses that enable students to gain insight into running a business. The team have organised enterprise competitions and projects between local schools to encourage entrepreneurial spirit. So far they have helped local schools set up dozens of after school activities run as small businesses which have included allotments and orchards, shops, radio stations, a printing business and many other enterprising initiatives.
