Making his mark on Enterprise
Jack Mangan had a natural talent. And he also had big ideas and lots of ambition.
Irish-born Jack, 20, had always been artistic and had wanted to run his own business for a long time. So it was only natural that his passion for body art won in the end and led him to become his own boss at Gothika in Redcar.
Jack was already a busy tattoo artist when the opportunity to make a permanent mark as the full-time owner of Gothika came up, and, after getting in touch with the Enterprise Team at Redcar and Cleveland, he grabbed it with both hands.
Not long after and with advice, guidance and funding from the Enterprise Team along the way, he is now his own boss leaving a lasting impression on others.
“They were really helpful. They were easy to deal with, didn’t send me round in circles and got me the answers and help I needed straight away.
“I received help with e-commerce and lots of advice and guidance with regards to marketing and running the business effectively as well as which funding to apply for and how to do it.
“The team was quick and efficient and that was a real bonus for me and my business”
Based on Dundas Street, Redcar the business has gone from strength-to-strength with a lot of customers coming through word-of-mouth recommendations.
“I sometimes can’t believe how lucky I am. It is hard work and stressful but I love being my own boss and doing what I love. It’s a great way of life, a much better lifestyle for someone like me.
“I’d definitely recommend getting in touch with the Enterprise Team if you have a passion, hobby or great idea which you think could become your perfect career.”
