A trained beauty therapist is taking her talents on the road after setting herself up as a mobile make up artist.
Kimberly Rose, 22, originally from Middlesbrough, moved to Loftus as a child and worked in the cosmetics industry for international brands including Clarins and Clinque before deciding to strike out on her own with her business Make Up Confidence.
Offering one to one lessons in application techniques, make up parties and bridal beauty, Kimberly creates professional make up looks for a wide variety of clients using the latest products from trusted brands such as Mac and Urban Decay.
“My slogan is ‘creating inspirational beauty’ and that’s what I try to do. It’s all about building confidence in the client.
“Having professionally applied make up gives you confidence, whether you want to look fabulous for a special occasion or just learn how to highlight your best features. I create the make up look you want or provide step by step practical tuition so you can be confident in applying your own make up to a professional standard.”
And with a little help from Redcar and Cleveland’s Enterprise Team, Make Up Confidence is capturing the imagination of the public.
“When I started Make Up Confidence, I went to the Enterprise Team for some guidance.
“I’m an experienced make up artist so it wasn’t really that aspect of my business that I needed help with, but promoting and marketing a business was new to me.
“They sent me on a marketing course and set me up with a business mentor, Mike Gibson, and a ‘business buddy’, a lady called Bernie Sowa-Smith who has been through the same process as I’m going through. It’s really helpful to be able to go and bounce ideas off someone who has been through the process and knows how I feel.”
