Loftus Woman tours the region offering Holistic fayre’s

A Loftus woman is in the process of turning an interest into an occupation as she  begins to organise holistic fayres and events across the North East.

Sheila Wren, 55, received help from The Enterprise Team (LEGI) with training courses, funding  and advertising and aims to hold at least one fair a month whilst pursuing a career as a life coach.

Sheila’s fayres provide the platform for local businesses to promote themselves through talks and individual stalls. Each fayre offers an array of products such as jewellery, crystals and candles, as well as stalls with Tarot card readers, palm readers, psychic readers and therapists. A number of talks are also held, including personal development , crystal  and mind, body and spirit talks.

Sheila said: “I’ve always had an interest in the fayres and used to take part in them, offering Indian Head Massages, aromatherapy, reflexology and Reiki, I then started doing some talks before getting the opportunity to organise them myself.”

Sheila, a Mental Health nurse, is particularly interested in the ‘Endorphin Effect’ – how the mind affects the body – and is now teaching people about how the two are related. The course  Sheila took in this subject was also funded by The Enterprise Team ( LEGI. )

She said: “I did my own life coach training and The Enterprise Team  provided funding for both self esteem confidence training and the course on the Endorphin Effect. They also paid for some six foot banners which can be seen on roadsides, to advertise the business, as well as helping with my first year’s insurance and assisting me with a business plan. They have been a big help.”

Following a successful Mind, Body and Spirit fair in Gateshead on August 16, Sheila’s next fair will be held at the Spa Hotel, Saltburn, on the 3rd October.

All those who attend the fayres receive taster sessions at reduced prices.
