The Enterprise Team
The Local Enterprise Growth Initiative (LEGI) commenced delivery in July 2007. Since then the team has continually evolved in its progressive delivery options to improve the service and support give to our varied clients.
The team’s core client groups are schools, social enterprises, existing businesses and the general public. The team have adapted and introduced methods of working direct with clients to support their needs.
Dramatic enterprising results have been achieved with many of the schools throughout the borough and this has resulted from the dedicated hard work determination and the will to succeed from the Education Enterprise Team of the programme. Our work has helped in bringing education and enterprise together, within the realms of schools and colleges, reaching the young of the borough and spreading awareness of options and broadening their expectations of self employment.
A number of local community organisations and social enterprises in the borough are competing well in the business arena by generating income for themselves in major ways. This has been achieved through the dedicated support and the practical help provided to spread awareness of the business potential many organisations in the Third Sector possess. This support and help has been supplied by members of our Business Enterprise Team.
A significant number of residents across the borough have been assisted in achieving their aims of becoming self employed. Many of these individuals have come with just an idea, or even a hopeful dream and the Business Enterprise Team have provided support, assistance and coaching to help make their self employment hopes become as much of a reality as possible.
In these poor economic times, many existing businesses in the borough have also been given a lifeline of support with the assistance provided by the team.
In the three years that the LEGI programme has been operating in the borough, the delivery expectations by the team have had to change and evolve to address new and ever changing needs of individual clients and/or client groups. The LEGI Enterprise Team collectively, have undauntingly, and consistently, adapted their methods of operation to cater for the client needs as affectively and appropriately as possible.
Together, the team have worked in ensuring their varied client groups are given the same degree of vital support to achieve positive results.
